Hyaluronic acids are sugar molecule chains that are abundant in the skin. They cause the skin to appear plump and elastic. The hyaluronic acids can bind many times their own weight in water. With advancing age, however, they are increasingly degraded.
The targeted injection of hyaluronic acid takes place in the middle to deep layers of the skin. Hyaluronic acid can bind a high amount of moisture here, which lifts the skin from underneath. This reduces wrinkles or even makes them disappear completely and the skin appears more even
The classic area of application for anti-wrinkle injections with hyaluronic acid is the face. Wrinkles of different depths and in different places are treated. These include, for example, mouth and lip wrinkles, eye wrinkles including bags under the eyes, horizontal forehead wrinkles, marionette wrinkles as well as the nasolabial fold and the jaw line.
Hyaluronic acid can also be used to add volume to the lips and cheeks, as well as for chin and nose correction.

Even though a very thin needle is used for the injection, the treatment may still be associated with slight pain. Therefore, we usually apply a local anaesthetic cream beforehand. The hyaluronic acid fillers also contain a local anaesthetic.
After the treatment, a soothing cream is applied to counteract possible redness and swelling. Make-up can be applied directly over this. The treatment lasts about 45 minutes in total.
The effect of hyaluronic acid appears immediately after the treatment and usually lasts up to six months, on the lips as well as on the tear trough even about 12 months. After this period, the body has completely broken down the substance. The treatment can be repeated without any problems.
There are cross-linked and non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid fillers. The cross-linked ones are particularly stable and are mainly used for deeper wrinkles and to build up volume (e.g. on the cheeks). They have a high lifting power and thus compensate for volume deficits.
The non-cross-linked fillers are used for skin rejuvenation as they have a low lifting capacity and primarily increase the water storage capacity.
In our practice, we only use very well-researched products from reputable brands. These are body-identical and have a low allergenic potential.
Wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid is very low-risk. Hyaluronic acid has been used for anti-wrinkle injections for many years and no long-term side effects have been observed. In rare cases, however, redness, swelling or very small bruises can occur during the injection, but these disappear after 3 days at the latest and can be covered up easily.
To protect your skin, you should refrain from sports, direct sunlight, sauna and solarium for a few days after the treatment as a precautionary measure.
Contraindications are pregnancy, breastfeeding, active autoimmune diseases and blood thinning as well as an allergy to hyaluronic acid.
