The fat-away injection is a simple, non-surgical method for the scar-free removal of small fat deposits. The excess fat is released from its fat cells and broken down by the medication injected directly into the fat layer. It can also be used to eliminate fat deposits that cannot be further reduced or completely removed by diet or exercise.

Everything you need to know about the Fat Away Injection

Here you will find all the important information about the fat-away injection and the treatment in our dermatological beauty practice in Berlin-Charlottenburg.

The medical term for this treatment is injection lipolysis. Typical indications are a double chin, sagging cheeks and riding breeches (pronounced fat deposits on the hips and buttocks) as well as fat deposits on the abdomen and thighs.

The fat-away injection has been developed for small problem areas. A noticeable weight loss is not possible.

It is a minimally invasive treatment that takes about 30 minutes. With the fat-away injection, an active substance (deoxycholanic acid) is injected into the fatty tissue, which leads to the destruction and dissolution of the fatty tissue.

After the injection into the treated area, there is redness and swelling. In addition, a bruise, itching and/or a hardening may form. These side effects are normal because they are caused by the deliberately triggered inflammatory process to reduce the fat depot. After a few days, the skin and tissue at the site calm down again.

To achieve the desired result, we recommend up to 6 sessions. Depending on the patient, the amount of fat and the area, 2 treatments may be sufficient. The individual treatments should take place at intervals of 2 to 4 weeks.

The duration of effect of the fat-away injection is permanent, because in contrast to a diet, the destroyed cells of the fatty tissue (adipocytes) cannot fill up again. In addition, the treated tissue is tightened. However, it still cannot be ruled out that the treatment will have to be repeated depending on the fat depot and area.

We recommend avoiding sauna visits and only light exercise for a fortnight after the treatment.

The cost per treatment for fat removal injections in our practice in Berlin-Charlottenburg depends on the area of the body:

  • Double chin: 300 Euro
  • Double chin + jawline: 400 Euro
  • Tummy: from 400 Euro
  • Legs: from 500 Euro
